Well it’s one way of doing it, it is a well worn path.
You do need to be aware that because the taxpayer is picking up the tab for your training, and the nature of the military flying the attrition rate through the selection process and then through training is almost certainly a lot higher than in the civilian world....I’m not trying to put you off with that statement, but you need to be cognisant of the fact.

Not sure what the situation is now but you didn’t used to get much if any personal choice as to what you ended up flying, you went where the RAF/Treasury had the slots, ability allowing.
