If you think that level of direct analogy works, you cannot seriously be an airport planner. DND-STN is predicated on getting Dundonians into London, it's already hard pressed to do so offering a service to STN, whereas the old Suckling LCY-DND did quite well as it served the heart of (East) London, it had a selling point of dropping you into Central London and charged a premium for doing so. The USP of a DND-STN is nowhere near so strong, the marketability of SEN on that basis even less so. Now if you want to serve DND-SEN then fair play, but it's not realistic to compare it as a fast service connecting Dundee to London worthy of a taxpayer subsidy. I live in London, going all the way to Southend-on-Sea to catch a turboprop to Dundee when they're an hourly jet from LHR-EDI is nonsense on stilts. By all means go after the point-to-point niche market but THAT should not be subsidised.
