I once had a booking on the short-lived BEA Viscount service EDI-INV. Flight was cancelled (I suspect because of lack of pax) and they put us in a limo to Glasgow, then flew us Glasgow-Benbecula-Stornoway-Kinloss (INV closed for runway works) - plus I got a flight deck ride BEN-SYY, low level VFR up the west coast of Harris. And they apologised for the inconvenience!
