I'm with a cable broadband company, and the email service allows me to add filter rules using the webmail client, so that spam doesn't even reach my Outlook mail client - there's a pleasing option called "Discard" if it matches a spam address! But it is a never ending battle against the spammers, sadly.

My email is provided but Fasthosts (UK). I have a basic service which I suppose means emails sent to my service provider (say
[email protected]) sit on their server until Outlook 2910 on my laptop downloads it to my laptop (pop not imap). As such I have no Outlook email provision at the providers end to ‘tinker’ with.
