What is the future of MRO/line maintenance service providers?

What do you think are the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to Line Maintenance service providers based in the EU such as BA Engineering, Lufthansa Technik etc.
What recommendations would you suggest to a line maintenance provider on they could further develop its market share in this business area?
NOTE: Please note I am a student and currently studying aviation management. I am working on a case study regarding MRO's based in the EU. I would really appreciate your views on this subject.
