Hello insider... It happened to see your post about tae.
This is my experience with them.
...
1) delays occur not only to tae due to its small fleet, but to all schools operating from megara airport (lgmg) because it is an airport belonging to hellenic army and serves military flights (helicopter) it is also common to the schools operating from this airport to delay or even worse to cancel flights because of the airport operation.
2) i see you are complaining for students that had to fly more hours and not for your self. All schools including tae, when they feel unsafe sending a student solo, the just add few more hours to the student program. This is called safety first.
3)off course every student should read the poh himself first and then review it with the instructor. (at least this is what i have experienced when i was a student) i also noticed that there are 4 instructors and not only one.
4)training manager is not always absent as far as i have experienced. He is absent when he has to fly to training centers for teaching pilots how to fly the a320 as he is sfi and tae is giving type ratings all the time. Maybe that is the reason you feel his absence.
5)the school owns 2 airplanes thus they only accept a limited number of students for training, but the combination of low fleet and non convenient airport operation lead to issues that might disappoint someone. Things getting better though from both sides. Airport is becoming more flexible and tae is getting 2 more airplanes to contribute to its high workload and continiusly increasing number of students that apply and unfortunately getting a negative respond.
6)sometimes you can get there in only 45 minutes (i live 75 kms aways and i have to drive through the whole city, and sometimes took 1:45hrs. This is happening very rarely though.... Since the goverment decided to abandon the old athens airport project for general aviation we all have to drive to megara to fly... This is a common factor for every flight school in athens.

Overall i am happy that i see a school in greece being typical to the rules and regulations and always have safety as a top priority,
you dont want to and i dont want to fly an old and unreliable aircraft.
By the way tae as far as i know owns the newest training aircrafts in greece and they are well maintained.
I know you will feel that i am somehow related to tae, but i assure you, i am not.
I am just a very happy customer of them.
Ps. Apologize for typing in capitals, but it started like that and didnt had time to retype everything.

Hello Iptius,

i am really sad to read your comment about Mr. Spyros Ginis. As far as i have experienced, Mr. Ginis has nothing to do with the training directly. It happened to me too that i had to visit him after my instructor have sent me and all i have to say is that yes, he was intense but never rude. He actually motivated me with his words. We finally became friends after my graduation and he still coaches me . He actually gave me my A320 T/R. He is areal gentleman.
Aviation is an industry that you have to be direct to the person you are talking to and point out the problem. By being very gentle, you finaly feel that there was no reason for visiting the head of training. Trust me, if you have to visit the Head of training after your instructors order, there is a problem and it has to be solved for your own good. It worked with my issue.

Wish you good luck with your training and your career!
