So the EGPWS 1000 foot call goes off and 14 seconds later one of them calls "gear down" (what height above ground are they at by this time) and I can't hear a landing checklist being conducted
Not sticking up for them obviously - but what you hear after the 1000’ EGPWS is the landing checklist not a request for ‘gear down’..
