It would have been the case that the cancelled outbounds the week before would have sold enough pax to fill your inbound flight. Once Cooks went 'from solid to liquid', those outbound pax didn't have the return seats available.
As was the case with Monarch, the 2nd week of repats is a lot quieter, as by then, the majority of people (typically booking a 7 night) would have gone home.
