I feel for my ex colleagues. Perhaps the saddest thing is that thanks to the double-edged sword that is seniority, some people will never hold a captain position at their preferred airport/base ever again. TUI and EasyJet are really the only employers at the smaller UK airports and they have seniority lists where the wait to command is [a very long time].
