That's pretty nauseating when an airline strikes and wrecks plans made months before to connect with loved ones for events that are then lost for ever. if you don't like the management, (who I agree are clueless of their main assets) understand that the word "professional" means using your imagination to find a way not to crap on the innocents who pay the wages, but could decide that once bitten, twice shy.
