Yep -Fuel release normally is good for that day to get fuel with that paper you are carrying with you(IF you work for a more or less honest/"liquid" company that the fuel suppliers are actually thrusting), otherwise million of different fuel carnets(usually they just want BP or SHELL in Europe, forget the rest as my former, well known, biz company always wrote on the briefing WHICH carnet to be used but with the fuel truck we always ended up with the mentioned 2, others got refused).
And of course, if your company hits rock bottom(in 99% of the cases), there is cash for fuel. Very uncommon. At least in Europe. If that is the case it is time for you to look for a new job
