Smythe, that's all beside the point. Of course Boeing can fix the MAX and undoubtedly will - the NG is statistically one of the safest aircraft ever built (marginally better than the A320 series) and there is no reason the MAX can't be equally safe. But there
are people lobbying for a permanent grounding (some on this forum). I'm simply pointing out the consequences if they get their way.
