My girlfriend works 5 days a week 8 hour days for 1/5 of my salary. Her holiday allowance is smaller than mine and her pension contributions are minimal. As an airline pilot You are paid for the responsibilities you are taking on a daily basis and for the level of skills you are required to demonstrate each and every flight. “An office job” is absolutely incomparable as there are “office jobs” with very high responsibilities and very well paid (think about a lawyer of a major company facing a court case for several million dollars and with possible jail term risks) and the office job of a secretary of your local rent a car.
