Local news say upon landing.....SAFARILINK INCIDENT REPORT - 16 August 2019
PRESS RELEASE: 16 August 2019
We have been informed that our Dash 8 aircraft registered as 5Y-SLM has been involved in an incident whilst landing at the Kichwa Tembo Airstrip, Maasai Mara. The aircraft was carrying out our scheduled service with a routing Nairobi (Wilson) –Maasai Mara – Nairobi (Wilson).
The initial report we have is that a couple of Wildebeests ran across the runway as the aircraft landed. We are thankful to confirm all passengers and crew onboard the aircraft are safe and there are no injuries or fatalities. The aircraft is disabled and we have dispatched other aircraft to take engineers, and company staff to the site to further assess the situation.
We wish to thank friends of Safarilink on the ground at Kichwa Tembo for all their assistance and cooperation.
