Has been very quiet from all on the "return to service" or even "the fix" ready to submit to the FAA for approval and subsequent FAA flight test/s.

Are they just waiting for the first final report (most damming), or both final reports?

Engine issues on the 777X make for delay reason - {hint} best check on the risk assessments and other certification processes during this delay.
