I am inferring from your comment, that you took some time reprogramming your navigational device. If I was presented with a request to fly to an unexpected waypoint, I would tell the controller that I'm unfamiliar with the waypoint and request vectors.
Or in airspace that busy plan for the unexpected, get all the VRP’s into your plan, and study the routes between them, and mark the tracks/distances on your chart. You’re unlikely to be given vectors. If you’re unsure then you will most likely be told to route round. The aerial photography feature in SkyDemon is also handy for a pre-look at what a VRP really looks like and assists familiarity. Kimpton Hall in the Luton zone anyone?
