Something to think about if you intend to be a tax resident of Australia ( I.e. Commute ) is the social insurance deductions and whether they are tax credits or not. In Japan you may feel you are paying a fair share of your income to the Japanese government and then come home and pay more to the Australian government. A lengthy discussion with your accountant would be the best advise.
