Looking on from a distance, I am afraid I can only see this decision - disappointing, indeed! - as just another illustration of the whole UK completely loosing touch with common sense. Not that things are so very bright on my side of the Channel, but as yet we could manage to avoid becoming a banana republic. (biting back comments on politics and politicians)
