Must confuse ATC. Usual question when El Al call for clearance "are you intersection able?" will get a "no" if it's a "small" 737-800/900 which, being short to medium range, will be close to its max TOW with a relatively high (% wise) fuel load.. The much larger 777-200, being a long range aircraft, only going on a 4
½ hour flight to Tel Aviv, would take barely 30% of its max fuel capacity (around 94000kgs), and will often accept an intersection departure even with a full passenger load.
When a BA 777 took the England football team to the 2002 World Cup it took 90,000kgs of fuel, close to its maximum fuel load, albeit with only 125 passengers on board. It went for an intersection departure from Alpha 1 and rotated before the fire station.
