Since the responsibility for preventing a runaway is moved from the pilots to a more reliable flight control system (more reliable than the old system), the checklist might disappear?
The question is if the ‘relay logic’ is going to be removed, and implemented in the flight control system?
E.g. if the 3 phase contractor today controlled by the trim cutout switches, is to be controlled by software?, this might be needed to prevent a classic runaway originating from a fault in the trim motor unit.
And if the yoke trim, and cutout switches is changed to software inputs?
I know many of you don’t like the HAL to have the final authority.
