Im currently coming to the end of my MEIR on the DA42 and I found the Simionic G1000 app for the ipad/tablet really useful, You can practice everything you just mentioned and honestly once you have the hang of the G1000 it makes the IR so much easier. Ive previously flown the Duchess and can vouch that the DA42 is amazing as is the G1000.
