I think there was an article in the US magazine "Flying" in the last 18 months where they took a Husky or similar into the Back Country - involved landing on stream beds etc etc - where they discussed this
yes there is a price to pay in speed, load etc etc but if you WANT to land on 1ft boulders....................................... of course you aren't travelling very fast when you intersect the terrain
