I flew back to Manchester from Orlando with TC last week, I fly the atlantic route 4 or 5 times per year, usually Virgin Atlantic, but gave my business to TC for this last trip due to the ridiculous prices and lack of honouring air miles by Virgin, anyway that's for another debate....
The TC flight was manned by the most disinterested cabin crew I've ever come across. A quick drinks service then dinner service (well a carboard container of pasta, nothing else on offer) and that was it we didn't see any cabin crew again until an hour before landing when they came round and threw a breakfast snack at anyone interested.
Maybe "chinese whispers" within the company suggest they know more than we do, and just can't muster up any enthusiasm anymore ?
Hopefully the company can survive this current financial issue and no jobs will be lost.
