@2unlimited: They are actually in Switzerland and even in Norway they wanted to support addicts with hard drugs for free to stop the cartels and almost did it (its of course absolutely morally, ethically and financially wrong to give drugs for free, but legalizing that is not wrong).... and if they legalize some drugs (in the US they already started and Canada followed and soon many more nations) then soon enough they will legalize the rest, the cartels will of course resist. And how could the cartels be happy to have it legal seriously? They would loose all the profit they could not sell anything they produce because it would have to meet standards like tobacco and alcohol and they would have to fix the baked in tax, they would have to have employees..... the cartels would be done. Criminals do not wish to be companies. Just check the places that legalized so called mild drugs.... there are serious companies producing the stuff like in Colorado while the cartels lost their market and they are very angrily trying to push the illegal drugs to make up for the profit they lost forever.

And if some nations let the cartels still produce the drugs then drugs from there would be import banned.... and it would not profit the cartels to import illegal drugs if addicts could buy legal drugs for the same price. And to sell them cheaper would make the smuggling unprofitable and either way the cartels would be totally done. Just like alcohol cartels were totally done when US lifted the ban.

Did alcohol mafias become distilleries and cartel producers of alcohol after US lifted the ban? No? Then why on earth do you believe the cartels would start being lawful companies producing drugs, they would loose every production line since everything they did would not meet the professional standards. As for people still committing crimes well then nothing will change other than those who do not commit crimes will get professional help paid by their baked in tax in the price of the drug instead for the money going into cartels pockets and crime bosses.

I want a world of free people having equal chances (not equal results like the socialists wish).... the corporatism that currently is present most places around the world is what creates monopolies and oligarchs. Free market capitalism is about competition and a free market is not one where government cooperate with corporations to destroy the competition or help the corporations survive crisis with tax money taken from the small and middle companies.
