Actually you do. If someone has been pleasant and interesting then lose nothing by doing it a second time as you may be able to help in a different way. Just dismissing something quickly leaves a very negative impression. A second meeting to indicate why not feasible at this point in time plus offer advice and assistance leave a very different message.
Bearing in mind that people suggesting one airport may in 5 years time be looking after a much bigger airport in a different country. A meeting occurs between Airline and Airport and person meets someone they met 5 years ago. They remember person as being polite, pleasant and willing to offer advice then that is a much better meeting that someone who remembers someone as being dismissive. Most business is really small place.
