I think it is worth clarifying. I'm going to call them on Monday. In the ADAPT pack they sent me, if you look carefully, it says that NO calculator is allowed on the maths and physics. But then they give you examples of the questions asked, and quite frankly without a calculator, it's unrealistic to do it in your head even if you are very good at mental calculations. For example, how could one be expected to calculate tan(34) without a calculator? Correct me if I'm wrong, but either you need to know a handful of trigonometric identities and spend several minutes converting all the numbers and dividing and multiplying on a piece of paper, OR you are actually allowed to use a basic calculator. From what I understand, the maths and physics questions aren't multiple choice, so you cannot simply guess and estimate. If you get the answer wrong, you get it wrong. You don't get marked on 'showing your working' like we are used to in GCSE or A Level.
