You suggesting they are holding off the 787 SYD base slots for the 747 SYD redeployment?
6 747 to go and 6 787 to arrive. Qantas be within their rights to reserve every SYD slot on 787 as redeployment slots for 747 pilots.
Yes the timing could be better however no one plans Aircraft replacements as well as Qantas.
