Indeed! I had this point clarified at the 6th FCL TAG/subSSCC meeting held at EASA on 2 Dec 2015. It was confirmed that the regulation should be interpreted exactly as
Whopity describes.
But some NAAs are still too dim-witted to do so. One CPL/FI whose medical had dropped to Class 2 was told that he couldn't instruct any CPL holders (e.g. Class Rating refresher flying) for remuneration. Which was double bolleaux!
