I'm not sure if this will help, but since we installed the Google toolbar with "pop-up blocker" option, accidently activating invisible but live links to those sites seems to be a thing of the past.
Would you believe it's blocked 186 pop-ups in 4 or 6 weeks!! (It has a counter showing the number blocked)
The toolbar has other cool options too.
