The disinformation campaign has started re “Stop the lie, change the Act"

Yes, the disinformation campaign has started in relation to “Stop the lie, change the Act, let aviation thrive.”

An article was published in yesterday morning’s Sydney Morning Herald, headed “Pilots seek safety first regulations” (online as “Pilots, experts call out push to make CASA weigh costs of safety”) which I would imagine was instigated by the “iron ring” at CASA to keep their unaccountability.

The article talks about the changes in the Act and says:
“The changes have been designed to appease the general aviation industry – including charter, pilot training, recreational and agricultural operators – which says it is being strangled by over-regulation.”
“Aviation expert Neil Hansford … says, "To commercialise the implementation of safety and operations regulations is not sound and could lean to the problem we have in the United States," he said."
I must admit I have to hand it to them. They have been able to keep the “lie” in the act – that is, the words CASA must regard the safety of air navigation as the most important consideration, for over 20 years now, and the latest changes to the Act that are sitting in Parliament continue with the lie.

Of course CASA well knows that the only reason they don’t mandate the staffing of the air traffic control tower at Wagga (in the Deputy Prime Minister’s seat) is for cost reasons. In that particular case, they have correctly put cost increases in front of safety improvements.

Rather than tell the truth, they lie, lie, lie – and this article is a good example.

I have said it before – imagine the morale of working for that organisation. You would have to live the lie during the day, then presumably when you go home at night you are expected to set an example for your children and grandchildren to be honest and ethical. Wow, that is a hard one.
