Addressing Labour MP Helen Goodman on how backbenchers may now put forward their views, given there is currently no prospect of an amendable MV3 on the horizon, Bercow hinted they could use emergency debates under So24 legislation. The suggestion is that Bercow could allow these normally meaningless debates to become amendable motions, which backbench MPs could use to hold votes on other Brexit options. “It’s massive,” a source in the whips office tells Swinford. Definitely one to watch........”
