Historic Helicopters - Wessex XT761 Open Day - 9.30AM to 11PM on Saturday 9th March 2019

Historic Helicopters, Chard Equestrian, Chard, Somerset, TA18 8QY

We are asking for a £10 donation per person on entry please. All proceeds are shared equally between Aircraft Restoration, RAF Benevolent Fund and the Navy Wings charity.

The focus of this Open Day will be the ongoing project to return Wessex HU5 XT761 to airworthy status. Come and join us for guest speakers and guided tours of XT761 and the Historic Helicopters hangar.

Unfortunately Mike Cuttell's Alouette II is still undergoing maintenance and will not be joining us.
Additionally, Red Lodge Helicopters have had to cancel their attendance.

1000 – 1030 Historic Helicopters, Andrew Whitehouse (Owner/Pilot), Steve Daniels (Test Pilot) & Dave Wells (Chief Engineer)
1030 – 1100 Wessex memories, John Beattie
1100 – 1130 The Westland Wasp in combat, Terry Martin
1130 – 1200 Wessex anti-icing trials, David Gibbings
1200 – 1300 Lunch
1300 – 1330 Historic Army Aircraft Flight & the Westland Scout, Al Sparks

Six Nations rugby matches will be shown in the cafe/bar area:
1415 - Scotland v Wales
1645 - England v Italy

Evening entertainment with live band, café and licensed bar
