Last time I went it was in the 40s in the morning, blew a gale from the SW and then we froze.

Was that the year the "cool change" was preceded by a dust storm ---- then just enough rain to turn the dust on the aeroplanes to mud.
I had to find few storms with rain, on the way home, to get most of it off.
And, of course, the famous Avalon crosswinds.
