I did convert to Ski with Bill in Stewart Lake Airways east of Kenora in the fall of 1992, just before I left for Norway.
Now that was fun, but nothing I would rent out to an average Private Pilot , with all due respect.
It was a C185 that we used on floats in the summer.
BTW interesting how soon it came to a stop on cold frosty ice. And according to Bill , if wet ice he had a trick were he kicked it into a groundloop and added power going backwards to stop. Not sure if that was just a good story, but knowing him I suspect he did it . Worked like a charm until he hit a rut, according to his son!!
Anyway
Try Kenora, a great place for any stuff like this!
Happy Skating
