I have not seen the improvements, but GE appears to show perhaps a gravel raised base over the salt and tarmac on top...?
At least the tyres / brakes will remain dry, and the underwings 'salt free'.
Sadly, also the scene of one of WA's worst aircraft crashes involving a BE-58 Baron, last light for the take-off, some ' footy' team members arriving late for the departure, and an 'unauthorised' control lock...…
(Nothing to do with the ad surface at the time, which was salt.)
