Any LCC seriously thinking of SOU surely will be thinking, is it worth the risk? It’s lucky to have BOH down the road, as least There a possibility that if it continues expansion it will be open longer to take what seems Like a large no. of Diverts. Surely any benefit of SOU transport links is hugely outweighed by the Unknown’s of landing probability not to mention curfews. Maybe with a 45/45 shuttle bus from
BOH to Southampton Central and a 30/10 to
Christchurch station would provide a more stable environment. In all seriousness Just imagine x3 full EZ 320’s we’re circling and got fogged away? Really doesn’t bare thinking about - let’s be honest .. would be utter chaos for a LCC.
Have you ever thought that navaids/lighting may just be part of the expansion plans. It really isn’t inconceivable!
