It provides a lot of performance information that may not be something you want to give away, and of course it also broadcasts accurate 3D positions that give a good insight into tactics both individual and formation. The ADS-B also broadcasts the equivalent of a MAC address that provides the airframe identity. All this is information that if you were to blog it on here would get you into a lot of security issues, but there is no problem with broadcasting the information in clear every half second to anyone that cares to look inside 200 miles.
