However... the statement is in connection with an apparent problem with the new control tower having non-angled windows which could cause unwanted reflections for controllers thereby necessitating continued use of the existing tower for at least another 12 months whilst the windows in the new tower are replaced/reworked.
They stated at the open day before Christmas that the intention was to keep the old tower operational for the first 6 months or so anyway. They wanted to get flights up and running as a priority, then worry about moving the control tower.
Surely changing out the windows wont take more than a week or two?
