You've asked a big question. Are you a high school or college freshman ? Do you have anyone close by with enough exposure to aviation to advise you ?
Since you're in the US, I'd recommend a US-centric website where these things are discussed. Try jetcareers.com in their forum section where things like this get discussed regularly.
parkfell's suggestion is a good one. You may find a flying club or may need to look around for flight schools in the KDFW area where introductory flights are offered.
If you decide to take a run at flying for a career, your physical condition will rule all. You'd need an FAA First Class medical certificate and would want to take the exam to see if there are any snags in play.
