I can fly direct to Southampton which I'm assuming would be the best method or I can go via Gatwick but both involve a bit of public transport travel that can take a few hours from what I've found alternatively I could drive down but would be looking at 12-15 hour round trip which could be time spent doing final reading of the NATS booklet. How did everyone else arrange their travel, how did you find it and is there anything you would do different?
Living in Scotland, my only real option was flying and as you said, every hour counts before the assessment day. I stayed 2 nights in Portsmouth and used trains majority of time when I was there and it was really quick and straight forward.
