Maybe your right about a turboprop guy if he is comparing turboprop salaries to narrowbody jets! Everything is relative. I was comparing what A320 operators in the region are currently paying. And my estimated for NET salary would be closer to 10k Usd as the combined taxes and social insurances are closer to 35-40% in Japan. Just a guess as it can depend on who the employer is also ( crewing company or direct hire). Anyway as a direct hire I think it would be a bit low for somebody already Airbus qualified.
