BA Press release here: BRITISH AIRWAYS TO PAINT AIRCRAFT WITH MUCH-LOVED DESIGN FROM AIRLINE'S HISTORY (their caps, not mine!)

Apparently colour photography hadn't been invented in the days of BOAC 747s.
