It would be important to substantiate eyewitness statements of the crash, to discount rumors that Meyer's plane was shot down either by a USAF F-100 (an F-100 wing was stationed nearby at RAF Lakenheath) or a British plane. An examination of the type of damage in the wreckage could indicate if the C-130 was downed by an air-to-air missile.
I doubt the C-130 was shot down by a missile from an F-100, as I dont think Super Sabres on alert were routinely armed with AAMs, only the standard M39 cannon.
