Denied by whom? Presumably the company as the NC would have been taking its directions from the GC.
So there we have it. After 12 months of the GC insisting they would never “rob Peter to pay Paul” we’ve got one of the recently departed GC members unashamedly admitting that’s exactly what they were trying to do (and achieved it to some degree with the hit to ARAPA)
