Speaking from the sharp end, there is no shortage of trainees, just a shortage of valid staff. A lot of the trainees we get at LACC have held during or just after their course, so there seems to be no imperative to pump more people into the system.
As an aside, I thought the course had been significantly shortened and most of the OJT taken out. Anyone out there know for sure?
