SO-Cal private flying - recommendations?
Hi all,
So, I'm recently USAF retired and have been flying commercial for a couple of years now. I have a few young kids and want to fly them around a little, have some fun. I live in the LA area sort of near LGB, wondering what clubs, airports, etc. I should be looking at for inexpensive but reliable rentals. Thinking 172 or equivalent so I can fly my kids around. I used to fly to Catalina with my Dad a couple decades back and my kids would love that experience. I learned to fly out of MYF but that's a few hours from where I live so the people and clubs I know there aren't going to work for me right now.
So, any recommendations on good clubs and airports I need to look into?
I'd also eventually like to get a tailwheel checkout in something I can turn upside down, so that's a secondary goal.
