The air conditioning is virtually turned off, the escalators are stopped, leftover snack options. They have tried to take total control away from pilots by promoting passive, spineless chief pilots and extremely junior and spineless deputies to the chief pilot. There's no one to say NO when a bean counter tries to tell flight ops how to manage their pilots and aircraft in a ridiculously unsafe way. I think we would be better off if the Chinese simply took us over. I think they would at least listen to the subject matter experts even if it meant being given an answer they didn't like.
