No Paid Leave is real....over crewed on A330 left seat. Maximum 6 months. Only for A330 Captains. The reason for the NPL is the no show of the 9 new A330s that were ordered in 2016. Company however hired with these frames in mind. HNA stuff is clearly causing a big mess. New rumours everyday!! Good news is the A350s are still coming....not sure who's paying for them though! Cabin crew being fired? Haven't heard that one!
Long time guest lurker here. Been with HKA for about two years now. 200 cabin crew fired, with talks of quite a few more going to be fired also.
Long haul expansion not doing well (LAX,SFO,AKL) - with AKL cutting down to 3 flts/week from next year (from daily), and no 2x daily flt during Christmas period from last year. AKL likely to close at the end of 2019 after reduction of flights.
Poor load-factors on longhaul flight, avg. l/f on SFO about 50% and on AKL about 25% (not too sure about la haven't checked).
Expansion into London, NYC on hold - with Toronto the last expansion for a while set for June 2019. Poor maintenance of fleet, with A350's already in terrible condition and simply not being maintained.
