In the past some people have deleted their images as soon as the challenge has been solved. There is one person whose name I sometimes see on this site who did it regularly. There is no need to do so.
I am a member of another site where the location of the challenge has to be guessed. It's been running for five years and no posts or images have ever been removed. What might be a factor is that no image hosting sites are required and the thread is not at the mercy of them.
