Here is something to ponder!!
If I am interpreting the CASA draft correctly,
SIDS WILL NOT APPLY to aircraft maintained under the proposed Part 43 --- for exactly the same legal reason as they do not apply to Part 91/43 operations in FAALand.
Indeed, the whole concept of
"whatever is in the current manufacturer's MM is mandatory" will be a thing of the past.
This would enable Schedule 5, with a minor amendment, to work properly, as in US, (after all, it is already and always has been FAR 43, Appendix D, almost) as the Annual Inspection schedule.
